This is the Epac Centre, a media library, player, download manager, and browser rolled into one. This app was built to allow people to down load Epacs, interact with them, as well as manage and view the content contained with each Epac.
An Epac is a bundle of video, audio, images, and other content types which you can download to own on your PC. Over the course of the last two years we have created a total of 17 different Epacs covering sports, music, TV, the theatre and many more.
Recently Astrata asked us to build them a repository for various types of disparate media including videos, images, PDF’s, and word documents. We built them a media player to display their videos and images, we combined this with a dynamic flash accordion driven by XML. As part of the CMS we built for them they are able to add content items into various sections which are then pulled and displayed within the media center accordion.
Although this was not the most glamorous project to work on it was an good learning experience which taught us some important dos and don’t s about building CMS driven flash applications.
